QUORUM — YOUR PARTICIPATION MATTERS

Quorum

A quorum must be present for the District Council to conduct official business and act on the items before the Council.

For a District Council meeting, a quorum consists of one-third of all eligible Club Presidents and Vice Presidents Education (VPEs) from District 221 clubs.

What does that Mean?

Each District 221 club has two representatives on the District Council:

  • Club President

  • Vice President Education

The total number of eligible Club Presidents and Vice Presidents Education is used to determine quorum. At least one-third of those eligible club representatives must be present for quorum to be established.

Members of the District Executive Committee are also members of the District Council; however, District Executive Committee positions are not included when calculating the one-third requirement for quorum

Why Quorum Matters?

Without quorums, the District Council cannot conduct the official business requiring Council action.

That means your participation directly affects our ability to move District 221 forward.

Register to Attend

Club Presidents and Vice Presidents Education: please register and attend.

Every club represented brings us closer to quorum and ensures that the voices of our clubs are part of the decisions we make together.
